The painting above, and drawing from 1978 below, are based on the 1977 painting bottom.

In the 1978 version of the work I attempted to unify what were disperate elements in the 1977 verson by extending an arm from the mouth to the skeletal figure. The hand comes from Dalí's Soft Construction with Boiled Beans: a Premonition of Civil War.
The 1977 version was painted at the age of 14 when I did not yet know of the existence of Dalí.

Another version was painted in 1987 and in 1989. In these subsequent versions the arm derived from Dalí was dispensed with. The 1987 version used linkage rods to unify the elements of the composition. View the 1987 version
