The gorgon Medousa's face in my drawing is reflected in her pose which is derived from a Sheela na Gig, refer below. The breasts are the eyes while the vulva penetrated by the phallus is the tongue coming out of the gorgon's mouth. The interpretation is based on the etymology I proffer for the word "Medousa" — which is explained in the previous drawing (which is further explained here and here).

In modern Greek the word gorgon is applied to mermaids which concurs with the associations made with the Sheelas depicted below.
